SARA Approved

Southeast Technical College has been approved to participate in State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

NC-SARA is an agreement among member states that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. The agreement makes it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state.

Student complaints concerning online courses and programs that have not been resolved through Southeast Technical College's complaint process may appeal to the South Dakota Board of Technical Education, the South Dakota Board of Regents or the Higher Learning Commission.

Online and On-Campus Associate Degree Program - 62 Credits

Computer Programmers take the vision of software developers and engineers and turn it into instructions that computers can follow. Also called software application developers, these I.T. professionals also test new applications and programs and rewrite code to fix or enhance performance.

As a computer programmer, you will work on applications for the desktop, local area network (LAN), internet, or a combination of all three platforms.

During your programming training in Sioux Falls, you will learn integrated development environment (IDE) applications such as Visual Studio, Dreamweaver and Websphere; use relational databases; become proficient at object oriented programming concepts; and learn database management systems (DBMS), including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and MySQL.
